Moon

A little idea I had for a personified moon and Earth.  She's super adorable and a ton of fun to draw, so there'll be more of her in the future. Who knows, I might even get around to drawing Earth...

Finally tried out colouring on my computer with my tablet, so here's some coloured Erikka :D

Here are some poses I drew after listening to Highscore by Panda Eyes and Teminite (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TiYnOy0KxY
P.S. I'm sorry I haven't been able to get around to my 30 Day Character Challenge, so I'll just be posting pieces I made last week.

30 Day Character Design Challenge: Day 9

TOOK my power in my hand
And went against the world;
’T was not so much as David had,
But I was twice as bold.

I aimed my pebble, but myself        5
Was all the one that fell.
Was it Goliath was too large,
Or only I too small?

-Emily Dickinson
 Part One; Life
 #59

Character that grew up with nothing, slowly fought their way to power and thus had a desire to conquer the world. But in the end, everything they worked so hard for came crashing down in failure.

Kind of an emotional piece, hope you like it.

30 Day Character Design Challenge: Day 8

Here's a little baby cupcake in a neckerchief.

For #8 I had to design a non-human character, so I decided to re-draw an old doodle I made in class a year ago. My character's species is a four legged mammal that I have yet to name: it's basically a cross between a rabbit, a dog, a cat, a gerbil, and maybe a little bit of Moomin mixed in there.

30 Day Character Design Challenge: Day 7

Here's seven pairs of shoes

The ones on the middle left are high heels with daggers as the heels, something greatly inspired by Samurai Jack.

30 Day Character Design Challenge: Day 6

Oh boy, I had fun with this one.

For this sketch I had to go to a random aesthetics generator and draw whatever it picked for me. And mine was "vampire bro".

So aside from the saying on the shirt(I was gonna go with "Starlets before Garlic", but whatever) the puka shell necklace made of human bones, the muscle shirt with a popped collar that doubles as a classic vampire cape collar, and at least 15 terrible jokes I made up making this, this design is 100% serious. Yep.

30 Day Character Design Challenge: Day 5

First  of all, I apologize for bringing these in so late, as work left me very busy and tired(I'll try to work harder next time).

So anyway, have some 10 different hairstyles! I realized that I mostly draw female hairstyles, so I drew some male hairstyles and gender-neutral hairstyles.

p.s. please don't ask me what the bottom middle one is D:

Important Notice

I hope everyone likes the new posts, because I sure am proud of them. :D

Unfortunately because of my work schedule, I will be limiting the number of 30 Day Challenge designs I will be doing every week. Each week I will only do about 4-5 of the challenges. Next Sunday I will post Challenge #5, #6, #7, and #8.

Until then, have a nice week!

30 Day Character Design Challenge : Day 4 part 2

I sensed that I might be late with character designs in the future, so I made another one for Day 4 to make up for any lateness.
Enjoy :)

New vs. Old

30 Day Character Design Challenge: Day 4

Day 4 inked sketch, created on Thursday October 15, 2015.
For this challenge, I had to go through the oldest sketchbook I could find and re-design a character. I didn't open to a random page for bonus points, though( I wanted to choose a design that didn't make me cringe at my past self).

New vs. Old

When I drew this spiritual/fairy/goddess thing in like, 7th grade, I like to think I made her have blank, pupil-less eyes to make her look mysterious and supernatural. She also doesn't seem to have a nose or a mouth, so maybe 7th grade me was just lazy.

30 Day Character Design Challenge: Day 3

Here you go, Day 3 inked sketch, created on Wednesday, Oct 14, 2015.
For this challenge, I had to design five mouths, each of them revealing a unique character. This one took really quick, but it was also pretty difficult: For mouths, I usually just draw a  simple line, but here I really had to focus on the lips and the teeth. So apologies if this one doesn't look as great as my previous works :(

I decided to go with the bonus challenge and have them all making the same expression: Glee/joy.

1. Top left: A basic happy expression- someone who easy to get along with.
2. Top middle: Big lips, upturned at the corner- someone who likes gossip and sarcastic remarks.
3. Far right: Big, wide, open mouth, tooth missing- Someone younger who finds far too many things funny.
4. Bottom left: Really wide, stretched lips, broken teeth - Sadistic antagonist who loves messing with their victims.
5. Bottom middle: Upper lip scars, blood, clenched teeth - Someone who's been through life and had very little to smile about. Street-hardened thug or a battle hardened soldier.

30 Day Character Design Challenge: Day 2

Here's Day 2 inked sketch, created on Tuesday, Oct 13, 2015.
Since the challenge was to design a character in a genre that I don't normally draw, and there are many genres I have yet to draw, I chose a genre I have never drawn before: Steampunk!
This was honestly so much fun to draw; I just started with the pose and added a whole bunch of things to the costume.
Because this is my first time drawing steampunk, plenty of Google image references were used.

30 Day Character Design Challenge: Day 1

Here's  my Day 1 Challenge sketch, fully inked, created on Monday, Oct 12, 2015.

The challenge was to put an Itunes playlist (or any other playlist) on shuffle, and design a character based on the first song that came up. My song was Dragon Rider by Two Steps From Hell, so I ended up designing a character that looks like they ride actual dragons.

My character has goggles to protect the face from high-speed winds, thick leather gloves, straps all over, facial scratches and a bandage on their nose(from stubborn dragons not yet flight-trained), and I added daggers at the back of the boots, to give something sharp enough to dig into a dragon's side.

I guess I also get extra points for using an instrumental-only song.

30 Day Character Design Challenge

Hello, everyone.

This my first time starting an art blog, so I thought I'd kick off with something special. Starting today(Monday October 12) I will take on the 30 Day Character Design Challenge. Every day for a month, I will design and sketch a character according to the list.
I will post all of the designs on Sunday, with the corresponding number in the list and date it was created.
